HELP! should i go back to school?!?

im going into my sophomore year of college and i go to school on the other side of the country from where i live. im not really happy there and my best friend isnt going back. i dont know if i should suck it up and go back or if i should tell my parents i dont want to go and stay at home and work and go to community college for a year. im also afraid that if i stay at home while everyone goes back to school i might just become really depressed.
