In The Hunger Games, how/when does Katniss first discover the method of Seneca Crane's death?

In Catching Fire, Katniss hangs a dummy with the words Seneca Crane on it. When did she find out how he died? I couldn't recall her actually knowing he was hung, specifically, until that point. Thanks.
